Joseph has over 15 years experience in the field of Interior Design and Construction. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interior Design from Florida State University and a Masters of Architecture Degree from Catholic University. Early in his career Joseph worked for some of the largest, award winning design firms creating both corporate interiors and large scale residential
interiors.
Joseph relocated to Palo Alto, California in 2001 and founded Joseph Hittinger Designs. Since arriving in Silicon Valley he has won awards for his innovative and creative interiors and has been published in California Home & Design Magazine, Gentry Magazine, The San Francisco Chronicle, The San Jose Mercury News, San Jose Magazine, The Palo Alto Daily and The Palo Alto Weekly. In addition his work is featured in two books from Schiffer Publishing: Decorator Showhouses (Summer 2004) and Before & After Kitchens & Baths (Spring 2005). Joseph has also been a featured designer on HGTV's "Sensible Chic" as an inspiration designer.
The greater Bay Area has benefited from Joseph's talent in other ways as well. He is a Board Member for the local chapter of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), he is a tree designer for the KARA Christmas Tree Event which benefits KARA Grief Counseling, he has done work for the Redwood City Boys & Girls Club through Design Response - an agency that helps pair non-profit agencies with pro-bono designers, and has designed furniture for the Sweet Chairity Event which benefits The San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Society.
Joseph serves as a Site Visitor for FIDER (Foundation for Interior Design Education and Research) to ensure that Colleges and Universities with Interior Design programs are in compliance with FIDER standards.
