DINING IN (for a Change)
It used to be restaurants only when entertaining because this dining room was visually cold, devoid of character and the furniture was too small in scale and capacity. Large crown moldings with a frieze and a tracery border add formality and intimacy to the space as does the chair rail. Drama comes from the intense yellow wallpaper and a tailored window treatment frames the view into the rear gardens. Hepplewhite shield-back chairs are upholstered in gold damask and the painting of poppies adds a vibrant punch of red.
